  • I do hope our British readers have all committed democracy today. Of course, you could feel free to let the BNP speak for you. (I voted Greens for EU on the software patent issue and straight Greens for everything else because Labour, Tory and Lib Dems appear populated with weasels, except Ken for Mayor because he's good with public transport. I might have voted RESPECT but I failed to research them beforehand.)

At least the Communist Party of Britain used an actual hammer and sickle as their logo on the ballot paper. You've got to admire such cracksmoking, though not enough to vote for it.

The Greens have been strikingly coherent, particularly regarding software patents - we've managed to get it into their consciousness that this is an important issue and that they can pick up a niche but noisy bunch of voters with it.

I find that there are significant points on which I am in really, really fundamental disagreement with the Greens, unfortunately. (Nuclear power and the military spring immediately to mind).

The Greens seem fine on everything that doesn't directly pertain to being Greens. I wouldn't want them in power but we could do with them as a large minority...
