When prompted for more dirt, "it doesn't let you change the timezone it displays in", although that doesn't seem entirely unreasonable what with this generally being set by $TZ. But then he showed me the GUI to adjust the clock settings and it did go downhill from there.
On OSX, I get rounded-corners with a few limited options, which ultimately just sets the strftime format anyway, but without the flexibility to just type in my own format if I don't like the precanned options.
