Apr. 17th, 2004 04:55 pmI am writing this from the one Internet café I've found that will let me just plug the laptop in. Dotcom Internet Café, near the corner of La Trobe and Elizabeth Streets; charges $3.90 an hour.
I stopped in at Dick Smith (return policy 14 days money back) and bought a NetComm (their modems were very good, I assume their WiFi is okay) 802.11g (why skimp and get 802.11b) PCMCIA card for $118. I've just downloaded the drivers.
