Australians, particularly ones not in Australia: if you have any doubt about your electoral enrolment, fill in one of these (PDF) and fax or post it in. You have until 8pm AEST Tuesday September 7th to register for this. You can vote at these places or apply for a postal vote (PDF).

I'm pretty sure I'm no longer eligible to vote in .au elections... not having continually "renewed" _and_ having been out of the country for more than (was it 2 years or 6 years that was the limit?) however many years with no intention of returning to reside in .au for the foreseeable future - at least that was the gist I got from the Australia House website when the last federal elections rolled around.

It's a good idea to put in a form anyway - they're used to dealing with multiple forms (e.g. the ones from when they come around to your house and ask everyone to fill in the enrolment whether they're enrolled or not), so it beats missing out.

I am still registered to vote at least at my last address... so I'm allowed to vote... not much point in a safe labour seat, but I will do my civic duty!
