I am sitting at the Pembury tavern with [livejournal.com profile] nyecamden, who is treating me to beer and food (I shall have to put out then), [livejournal.com profile] abigailb, [personal profile] fluffymormegil and others. Nye smells good. Martin has brought a geek game called Shadow Hunter which makes no sense whatsoever. Beer good.

I like the arguments in the first link but am too busy being annoyed at the misuse of "Darwinian" to focus on them properly.

Dear 'Bob' what a pile of pants. 'Morally defective', my arse.

And yon weblog is set up such that you can't reply to the awful's points.

People who misuse the terms 'Darwinian' or 'Darwinism' to justify points should be made to eat 'The blind watchmaker'

Well the firmware's open, so, in that sense, anything you like.

I'm not aware of anyone having done anything but wikipedia yet.

Well, quite. There's an observation that CStross made about (political) systems that set the value of something to zero not working. It's interesting to think about.

The mistypedURL article is clever but it's pointless because he's starting off with his own set of assumptions that are inaccurate in our current world. It's just a pile of rationalized wank.

It was nice meeting you last night. I hope to see you and Nye again at the Pembury.
