Monday: [livejournal.com profile] redcountess had a bad health day, so [livejournal.com profile] arkady and I postponed our date and instead she came over and we watched Roman Holiday. So I got dinner and a movie with both my darlings. I think I speak for everyone when I say we all want an Audrey Hepburn of our own.

Tuesday: I got my eyes tested and ordered somewhere north of three hundred quid's worth of glasses from Specsavers. Arkady found my purchase pattern most amusing: fuss for ages, then spot something and go "That's the one!" Also got a week's daily disposable contacts to try. I must say, I'm enjoying this "vision" stuff.

Arkady then came back with me to rebleach my hair, I pottered about in the afternoon and went out to [livejournal.com profile] karen2205's interlecktual salon in the evening, at the Starbucks in Borders near Oxford Circus. Only a few people, but a pleasant evening. Back to Arkady's to fall over.

Wednesday: Hanging out with Arkady in the morning and early afternoon, then Liz took me out on a date to see Terry Pratchett speak in the evening. We got seats near the front because of [livejournal.com profile] clanwilliam's infected leg. I stood an hour and forty minutes in the signing queue with [livejournal.com profile] beckyl with Liz's new copy of Good Omens and my copy of Wee Free Men. (Terry had clearly been signing and being witty and charming in his sleep for about the last half hour of the signing, not unexpectedly.) Then to the pub with Jen, Liz, Becky and [livejournal.com profile] gmh for absolutely necessary pints.

Today will mostly be accompanying Liz to various doctors. We also have a shiny new Macintosh Performa 5200 (apparently one of the worst models ever made), courtesy [livejournal.com profile] lproven, which we must do unnatural things to, like connect it to the modern Internet.
