Signed the lease, [livejournal.com profile] redcountess met the owner (who still hadn't finished packing herself - a landlady after our own hearts), handed the agent a wad of cash, pissed off to the Dev. Where most of the people we'd missed at B-Movie proceeded to show. Everyone was there, everyone was gorgeous and I didn't have a camera, and that's just wrong. [livejournal.com profile] corsetboy is discovering the power of a digicam to get one taking pictures of everything one possibly can, however. Super Bowl Noodle Bar for dinner with [livejournal.com profile] arkady, then back to Hendon.

We actually got everything packed over Saturday evening and Sunday afternoon, with [livejournal.com profile] arkady playing the rôle of house cat (sit on bed or couch, look decorative - correct makeup is vital when moving house). Final email checkin around 4:15pm, first carload (electrical goods) with [livejournal.com profile] leunnammi, second carload (squashy and fragile stuff) with the ch1xx0rs too. ([livejournal.com profile] arkady fits into small spaces well.) We took up residence as such as of 7pm. Unpacked minimally, called for [livejournal.com profile] teqkiller and [livejournal.com profile] muftak and pizza, went for food, money and drink, lightly heated the house to celebrate our arrival.

The flat is unbelievably gorgeous (and, at £737pcm, damned cheap for London). The bedrooms and lounge are nicely-sized and there's just the right amount of furniture and appliances. Garden, garage (currently being used as the shed). The main defect so far appears to be the acoustically transparent cardboard used for the dividing wall between ourselves and the next flat, who seem to watch telly until midnight and set their clock radio to go off at six. We do plan to adopt a couple of rats from Velveteen, which may be useful in Arkadian fear induction.

We arranged dialup (while waiting on DSL), but kppp isn't behaving (I could beat it into submission, but if I wanted to work I'd get a job) and [livejournal.com profile] shevek's PC we borrowed appears to have been booked to someone else and will have to be returned promptly. So [livejournal.com profile] redcountess is offline again.

So. We need a shitbox PC. PII-200 or better, expandable to at least 256MB memory, USB, can boot from CD, BIOS can handle a 60GB hard disk. Just need the box and a keyboard - have monitor (a Sun 19", courtesy [livejournal.com profile] _nicolai_) and mouse (a USB trackball that GLOWS BLUE!!!). Willing to pay an Absolutely Minimal Price or just take the hideous thing off your hands. Transportable by tube probably a must (ruling out most of [livejournal.com profile] shevek's PC graveyard in Bath). Call or email.

Update: And [livejournal.com profile] sbp seems to have retrieved quite a few of the B-Movie February pics. I probably won't actually fetch them until after Whitby, but they do seem to have been recovered. [livejournal.com profile] sbp++ *pint*pint*pint*
