I have just come out of a meeting on cross-training, which is a buzzword meaning I have to learn disgusting things about Windows - my only hope of getting a pay rise in the foreseeable future without a change of job - and one of my colleagues gets to pick up the basics of Unix. My Bill-sucking colleague ("Windows 2003 will take over!") is revolted by Unix and is dragging his feet as absolutely much as is possible on the entire process without it seeming to be actual sabotage. At least if someone presented the pain to me I could deal with it. It's having to actively search it out that rankles.
Stopped in at the Bell last night to organise further details of the reception. The real beer on tap will be IPA (really nice on a hot day) and Abbot's. Oh, and F*st*rs and C*rl*ng for the heathens. We also expect some hideous fizzy piss champagne for the event. I EXPECT EVERYONE READING THIS TO AT LEAST ATTEMPT TO SHOW UP AT THE PUB. IS THAT CLEAR?
(AUSTRALIANS, THAT INCLUDES YOU!)
My hair will probably get a long-overdue bleaching this weekend.
I have a few sets of interview questions to answer. I haven't forgotten! Really!
