Freda and arkady had what appears to have been a bout of sixth disease on Thursday and Friday, so I didn't make it out to seph_hazard's birthday *pint*age. She will of course be visiting once she's over her own cold. Our condolences at being of legal drinking age at last. It takes all the fun away. Except the getting smashed on much-needed gin bit, of course.

It's been a weekend of pleasant domesticity. Daughter and mother are both recovered and Arkady and redcountess have been playing with the extensive doll collection. Arkady has an Angel of Dream body on the way and will be chained to her sewing machine to make clothes for it for sale. I have this much housework to get to ... some time.

I have beaten VLC into playing my entire music collection over the network. I almost used some of the dark arts of P*rl revealed to me in the last week to write a command-line music player, and may do so anyway just for the sake of it. See the corruption corrode my soul.
