I have worked around the b0rken Ubuntu 9.04 wifi with a wifi PC card. How bloody annoying. Update: First it froze with an apparent kernel panic, then when it rebooted both wifi connections were working. I'm using the internal one right now and keeping the PC card around to frighten it into behaving.
