So much for April Whitby. My boss booked the last two weeks of April several months ago. And I'm marked as on-call for those two weeks, though I'll be making that only the second week. Fuck fuck fuck fuck, fuck fuck fuck fuck, fuck fuck fuck fuck, fuck fuck fuckitty fuck. We've already put a deposit on the cottage; [livejournal.com profile] redcountess and [livejournal.com profile] arkady are seriously discussing going up without me. To party with you kids while I keep vital financial machinery clunking! How profoundly annoying.

Arkady and I met up with [livejournal.com profile] webcowgirl and [livejournal.com profile] shadowdaddy yesterday. I secured many Gudangs. Arkady took Squeeek to the vet again today because of a slight myco flareup, but we have bright green antibiotics and all should be fine.

Tomorrow night, should Liz be well enough, Arkady and I plan to show at the Disco! Does anyone reading this journal still go there?

Bugger. These things do happen. Often.

Fancy a Pint?

You can always sell on your Whitby accommodation. Probably at a profit.

People still go. I'm not there this weekend, but I believe that [livejournal.com profile] kitty_goth has a posse going.

I've not been to Slimelight in maybe 3 or 4 years now... Not too sorry about that fact really either ;)

Is there no one at work who'll take your on-call for that time period, for love or money?

Well, if you get left alone during Whitby, shall we declare pubbage? [livejournal.com profile] damerell may or may not go, depending on what the lineup is (and if they still have tickets should the lineup be acceptable when it's announced), but I have no interest in getting beaten up by a bunch of strangers who own nicer clothing than I do. That means there's gotta be a few others.

I am very unlikely to go to Whitby, but I'm up for suitably timed and announced pub expeditions in London. So anytime in an evening or weekend, with a few days notice.

Bah, this is rather frustrating. I've got home commitments (of the nursing my parent variety) so I don't think I can come.
I'd do next week, definitely :)

I've never heard of anyone getting beaten up at Whitby (physically or emotionally) over who's got the better wardrobe! It's true it can be a bit of a fashion parade, but there's no sneering or nastiness really.

That's not what I said. I've seen [livejournal.com profile] damerell's bruises when he comes home from gigs, Whitby included (although the largest so far were from NMA). And, whenever I've gone to goth events, nearly everyone but me has had nicer clothing (certainly all the girls have blown right past me while I've dug out my Wal-Mart jeans and my ill-fitting, cheap corset).

So I have this image of being stuck in a mosh pit, surrounded by people in nicer clothing, getting bruises I haven't expressly negotiated for with the group.

And acquiring the nicer clothing doesn't appear to be an option.

So when I come to London for grad school, will you take me out to all these places?

*makes faces at you*

It's all right though, as long as you're ok with me showing up on your doorstep after.
