I curse the sun and all its works in these far northern latitudes. I do not appreciate being woken at five. It's nearly seven and already about a zillion degrees with the accompanying humidity.

The cat is an annoyingly creative little bugger and managed to get out overnight. When we buy a house, it will have a cat flap.

Rocknerd is active once more. Having not touched the site in nearly a month, I decided by executive fiat to make Ms. 45 and [livejournal.com profile] redcountess site editors. You know, applying basic rules of Internet community building. Shall I register an IRC channel on FreeNode? That'd be fun (FSVO). One day people will talk on #uncyclopedia too.

Perhaps we should form a sun-cursing society. The sky lightening before 4 a.m. is just uncanny and inimical to human health. Note to self: finally go out and find some reasonable sun-excluding curtains for the bedroom. Even some of the hideously colored/patterned ones spotted on the last attempt now look damned good.

Hmm, good idea. I may have to try that.

Apply s/northern/southern/ and you have my heartfelt agreement. It's jsut TOO FUCKING DARK around this time of the year. I mean, for one, it actually gets dark. It's freaky. And no decent compensation winter-time, either.

Probably better to just make a suitably-light-blocking curtain, it's not as if we're renting. :)

Well, there is that, but it wouldn't involve Fun With Safety Pins. *g*

Given the bizarre selection of light-blocking curtains I've run across so far, making them would be an appealing option; OTOH hand-stitching something big enough for the bedroom window is less so. Tempting as it is for some other projects, substituting duct tape, staples, glue, or even safety pins probably isn't a great idea. Staples are better suited to last-minute set decorations than to home decor, really. :)

It may need to be sickly green or a horribly busy floral pattern, after all.
