arkady has a job! She is to be a PFY at a web services company
in W1, starting today. Last night we celebrated the company's good taste.
Caffeine at Borders near Oxford Circus with
karen2205 (showing
off her shiny new IBM Thinkpad R50e),
topbit (who looks just like
his South Park
icon),
neonchameleon and
galliana, dinner at
Wagamama (joined by
hairyears) and pintage at the Oakdale Arms
(with mandatory geekage over MP3 jukeboxes and Discworld beer with
timeplease).
This morning I packed her off to her first day at kindy nice and early, thankfully making allowances for e.g. the person who fell ill on our train, delaying it fifteen minutes.
Others have heralded today as being an autumn's day at last. I am still sweating buckets on the Tube, sitting at my desk at work with the fan on and wishing I could come to work in shorts or a miniskirt. I THOUGHT THIS COUNTRY WAS SUPPOSED TO BE COLD.
