• The Fantasy Novelist's Exam. Just in time for NaNoWriMo.

I have just seen on Wikipedia THE worst. Username. Ever. User:Nimor Imphraezl, Anointed Blade of the Jaezred Chaulssin. In fact, it's the worst username I've seen ever, anywhere. Ever. An eleven-year-old who'd just read their very first fourth-rate watered-down game novelisation would be embarrassed by that. Ever. This guy has won at the Internet. Ever.

Tom has gone out in the rain and is probably holed up somewhere waiting for it to abate. Neo intrepidly stepped outside! Then intrepidly dashed back in when he discovered what "rain" felt like. Tom and Madam are still hissing at each other, but the mealtime truce is holding so far.

(I'm surprised and pleased the kitaens are safe with the back door open — they're approaching this "outside" thing in a very safe and gradual manner. Good. NOW I JUST WANT THEM TO LEARN TO SHIT OUT THERE.)

redcountess has caught the 'Merkin flu. Meh!

I shall be giving mr_eleganza my his leather coat tomorrow, and shall call Future Designs before that to ask where the heck quiet000001's Nice Boots are. And to see if I can get The Coat in XL for myself.

Update: Tom is an idiot. I called for him, he came to the door. Soaking wet. He saw Madam and then went to stand away from the door, sulking. In the rain. Then ran away when I went out to get him. If he's going to be a petulant teenager he can get soaked.

Update 2: Idiot cat decided the spare room window sill was a good place to sulk; I've dragged him in and towelled him off so he can sulk in the warm and dry.

The sound that emenated from my throat at reading that is difficult to transcribe. I would say "Ogg," but that misses the shrillness and rising tone that the sound has.

I was having a browse last night and am going to make an effort to expand out the Berwick (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Berwick%2C_Victoria) entry and a few others in the area. Seeing as most of the Science Fiction crap that fills my head has already been done I should look at new things.

Indeed! I sent a lengthy message, which Mr Orlowski represented with some
creativity, and the version run almost reflects things I said. I
strongly suggest that anyone answering one of Mr Orlowski's articles
in future also sends a copy to the editor directly:

idea if it'll make any difference, but at least the editor can't then

Some jewels I've encountered in the past have included "Pendamuse: Concierge of the Overlook" and "MechaElvira Kainblaze", among others. And proto-Wikipedia site h2g2 has always had the REALLY ANNOYING trait of people extending their nicknames to pimp stuff etc in lieu of having any sort of 'signature' on their posts.
