Oh dear L. Ron burning in Hell, I've just found something even dumber than the Xenu story I've known and loved for ten years. Here's the summary I just added to the Wikipedia article:

A Marvel Comics villain called Xemnu the Titan featured in Journey into Mystery #62 and #66 (November 1960 & March 1961), as a prototype of The Hulk; Marvel widely reprinted these stories in early 1967 [13] [14]. The Xemnu tale features similar themes to Hubbard's Xenu story: an alien warlord, escape from prison, mass death, telepathy and mental possession of other bodies [15] [16]. A different Marvel villain called Zemu or Xemu appeared in Strange Tales #103 (December 1962) and Fantastic Four #158 [17].

I particularly recommend the Operation Clambake Message Board link where someone discovered this and others tracked down every similarity. Oh God. It's even dumber than it looks. Oh God.

(Please do link this post anywhere you may consider suitable.)

Oooh... that's positively spooky -- it just shows echos of him live on on in our race memory. I'm becoming more and more convinced by this scientology -- if only I was wealthy enough I'd join.

Perhaps Marvel could lodge a copyright claim against the Co$?

(Sadly, I have heard of most of those characters, I just never made the connection)
(Sadder still, the She-Hulk image on the Angelfire page looks to me like early 1990s John Byrne artwork).

And it's based on real science. Bargain!

I remembered seeing Xemu in the John Byrne She-Hulk run from back in the 80s, and wondering if there were a connection. That is a cover illustration from those issues.

Oooh... yes, there's an need for a Hubbardian calculus at least. You could use it to track how many many fractions of $ add up to $$$$.

Subject: Do you want to join the team?

Hello everybody,

My name is Kate Mala and I am a staff member of the Church of Scientology in London. It’s great as I have finally found my purpose in life. I like helping people to improve and become successful. Scientology changed my life and I’m happy. I work seven days a week and I know I’m doing the right thing for the right purpose. The purpose is the creation of "The Ideal Org*" in London and to be ready to move to the new building!

You can ALL be part of this.

In my opinion the best thing to do is to JOIN STAFF AND HAVE FUN!

Contact me if you want to be part of the team that gets the job done, in my opinion, and I’d be delighted to answer any questions you may have.

Much love,

Kate Mala

SUCCESS STORY

It was quite nice tonight sitting at my desk for the first time in months. I had been working a lot recently, so much so that I didn`t get a chance to sit at my desk. I`d pick up my despatches from my basket but that was it. I paused for a minute and realised I was quite happy because I had been working hard and as Ron mentioned production is the basis of morale but also in that moment I realised I`ve been church staff for nearly 15 years and just by producing and being part of a great group, I believe. I feel more responsible and care for my environment and the people.

In my opinion this comes directly from being a church staff member and in my opinion taking responsibility for my functions and working hard. It comes from reading L. Ron Hubbard`s policy on how to do your job better, it comes form listening to L.Ron Hubbard`s tape plays (the Congresses) all of which lead in my opinion to a higher level of happiness. This stability, that I achieved for myself is priceless and powerful, something I`ve obtained from being part of Church of Scientology staff.

Priceless!

L.L.

The funny thing is, when I started hearing about Hubbard's mass-psychosis and that crowd's little green friend, I was calling him Xemu. Xemu this, Xemu that, Xumu jump outta the volcano, etc.
Now, beside my confusion as a youngster -- brought on by LRH's own inability to spell the name of his most famous super-hero/villain properly -- I now have to contend with discovering this is all racial memory implanted in my brain by comics?

That's it, I'm starting my own Willow/7-of-9 crossover slash fanfic cult to make myself millions. Giant red-head cyborg lesbians from outer space. It's a winner.

Kyle was watching "South Park" the other night, and I thought of you . . . the newest episode was a *fabulous* Scientology parody -- see if you can download it somewhere!! :D
