Epson Stylus Photo RX620 opinions wanted.
Nov. 22nd, 2005 12:25 amWe've been searching reviews and we think the Epson Stylus Photo RX620 is what we want. It's an all-in-one (printer, scanner, negative scanner, fax!) six-colour photo printer and its output is reputedly beyoootiful. Reviews indicate the hardware is gorgeous but the Windows software is t3h suck. We would run it networked off the Mac (known to work fine with Tiger). Though it takes USB drives and most memory cards, so you don't even need a computer for many things!
The printer is £150 from Amazon, Epson cartridges are £10 each or £38 for the set of six, though there are generics as low as £12 the set. (And I know that with generics, you watch out for pigment-based inks that will kill your print head as opposed to the proper dye-based inks.)
Has anyone used this printer or something similar? Words of advice for young people?
(Q. Getting photos printed professionally works out about the same or even cheaper. A. Yes, but I'm a control addict.)
