The next Wikimedia UK meeting is 2:00pm tomorrow, Sunday 15th January at the Royal Oak, 44 Tabard St, Borough SE1 4JU. This is the one where we actually set up the organisation and sign the paperwork to send to the Charities Commissioner.
B-Movie Went Off substantially.
arkady brought Marius, who had a wig on that completely won at '80s. I debuted the new boots. We had to leave early because Arkady was going *splat* and having an asthma attack didn't help (you can have air or warmth; pick one), but we had a lovely time till then. Nice to see so many of you lovely people.
ruthi in particular will be dragged along in future.
I'm not entirely convinced by the new camera, at least in default mode — it tries too hard on the colours, to the point where one shot, of a girl called Marcelle who is dark brownish, came out orange. I'm tweaking some shots now. Arkady is advising me on the finer points of the device. I discovered what happens when you drop this one: the battery door pops off and won't go back on. Arkady and
bluehelen took charge and got it back on. Not that I need a woman around to fix my mechanical devices, you understand. They're just nice. I'm independent. Yes.
We took the bucket off Neo's head this morning. He indicated his general displeasure at his life by peeing on a pile of clothes while looking at us with the most pissed-off rebellious teenager expression a cat could have. (We chucked him out for an hour or so.) Madam got to meet the rats under Arkady's close supervision.
The week's problems appear to have been due to a pissweak household poltergeist. This morning I went to make morning-after coffee and the glass was cracked. "AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHH!" Got a replacement from Woolworth's a short while ago.
It's pissing down, the house is still a mess, we're descaling the dishwasher to see if that will help and
redcountess is far too ill to be left tonight. But it's a damn fine night to stay in and revel in the miracle of central heating and cats and so forth.

Date: 2006-01-15 07:37 pm (UTC)I'll have to try to venture down to london in the next couple of months. I really need to get down that way anyway as I really want to see my nan, so if I do manage that I may try to combine it with meeting people/going somewhere etc....
