Went down the pub with the BOFHs this evening and got jma (Joonas Mäkinen) doing a nice rendition of the Nokia engineer from Voice Chat. It should sound just like an engineer phoning in a comment from the pub. bramsmits has offered to do the Dutch marketer. I have Festival doing the txt spk user. All systems go!

I was utterly exhausted by the trip to the pub and back, but it was probably good for me. I'm still at 94kg and eating like a horse. So I've probably got some recovery to go. It was wonderful to get out and drink proper beer in good company in a pub, though.

I've broken another bloody camera. The LCD's cracked this time. It still works (takes images with no flash and no preview just fine), so I'll see if I can get a dead one with an intact screen from Maplin (the importer), and if not I'll see if I can't turn it into an infrared camera. Or hack a webcam. Meanwhile, I've lined up a pile of cameras on eBay. I CANNOT GO CAMERALESS.

No, I picked it up at 5pm, well before going out, and switched it on to see a cracked LCD :-)

Ah. I thought perhaps you'd been doing Unnatural Things involving cameras, your pub buddies, a stolen plastic lawn flamingo and copious quantities of dessert topping. Things other than photography, I mean. It was a natural mistake on my part. :)
