I need one of these. (Unfortunately, they don't do a version the other way round. Yet.)
Did anyone see crate man?
It's been a remarkably productive couple of days' sitting on my arse at home. I had two phone interviews that went well and should lead to face-to-face interviews next week. (I may be employable. OH NOES!) I took apart my camera in the hope of removing the infrared filter; this is likely unfeasible, but I did discover the screen is remarkably easy to replace, so all I need is a matching dead one. I got Windows 98 working in VMware on tart, my Linux laptop. (The Windows box is, of course, called paris.) I recorded a story for UnNews, for which I installed Audacity, which is just unbelievably cool even if it does still use OSS. I also got recordings from two others (and am waiting on a third, if I don't just give up and record it with Festival). I am even seeing if the poor technophobe humorists can get bloody Theora to work, even though Theora makes Ogg Vorbis look popular. I won a power lead, an MP3 player and a dongle-free Ethernet PC card on eBay, though I failed to gather a camera or a replacement laptop motherboard (bastard pulled the auction with 11 minutes to go). It's pretty good.
redcountess is doing actual creative things: crocheting dolly clothes. A small start on flexing the creative muscles, but hell, anything beats three years of television and LiveJournal.
arkady pretty much lives here now. She popped over to her flat today and her neighbour thought she'd moved out.
Tomorrow we all go see Henry Rollins doing standup. Life is good.
Still wish I could have a clove though. Bah.
