DE Bill voting tomorrow, fix in today.

These are the MPs who bothered showing up to ram through this odious legislation. Here's your elected representatives hard at work.

(Yes, I know the Commons is usually deserted. I still expect more awareness of its importance, considering it's been the bill with the most MP contacts in the past few years.)

My MP, Neil Gerrard, who has otherwise been an upstanding fellow of excellent value, is resigning this election and appears happy to vote for this rubbish. I have noted to his prospective successor, Stella Creasy, that if she doesn't come up with something really incredibly convincing, I will be actively campaigning against her. I strongly suggest you contact your MP's office this evening with a similar offer. You bet they'll be in.

I have been assured (http://twitter.com/joswinson/status/11723998105) that the LibDems will stop it if it's not fixed.

Unfortunately the Lib Dems have been quite poor at holding up their assurances so far. Note the almost total lack of them in that debate, despite the very clear resolution from conference.

They lost my vote over this one. In fact, they pissed me off so much that I'm running myself.

I seem to remember them telling a few porkies over software patents in Europe, too.

It's good to remember that an MP saying they won't support the bill doesn't mean they'll actively oppose it.

DE Bill

hello! Sorry only just seen this post. Neil Gerrard actually voted against the DE Bill and if you follow my tweets you'll know I'm not a fan of it either! Happy to discuss if you like but haven't had any message from you? stella@workingforwalthamstow.org.uk best way to contact me?

best wishes

Stella
