quiet000001 arrived this afternoon, went to a Kane concert and is now attempting to sleep on our couch. Tomorrow I shall be taking her to bmovie even if it takes an ambulance helicopter. Same for redcountess. arkady had an unfortunate accident with a lead pipe (she was walking up Walthamstow High Street with the sun in her eyes, she didn't see a stall being dismantled, the stallholder didn't see her), seems to have escaped actual concussion and is now waiting to see just how bad the black eyes will be tomorrow, so may or may not make it. (Ouch.)

Old shots up: latexiron's 40th birthday party from last year, with Swarf, Screaming Banshee Aircrew and Captain Sensible! Please scream if an image is too, too horrible.

I have been filling out the Ixus article in Wikipedia with sample shots. spikeylady is officially encyclopedic. As is Arkady's doll Perseus. You see what I mean when I say good shots just fall out of the early Ixys.

(I would have asked you, narnee, but every damn shot was cursed with red-eye, so none were suitable as unedited sample images! I'll try with another Ixus as the opportunity arises. G'day luv, want to be in an encyclopedia?)

I've been to a gig 2 days after having my nose broken and I'm sure arkady is at least my equal in self-destructive fun. Drag her out!

I read that to her and she cackled in glee. She doesn't have black eyes (though they're more shut than they should be) and her nose is still about the right shape though a little broader. She says her bloody-mindedness should see her right.

Hm. No black eyes would suggest just a whack, not a break. I had two impressive shiners a day or so after...

I'm fairly certain it's not actually broken; it was mostly a glancing blow really. I've had enough breaks (though not my nose!) over the years that I'm fairly experienced in telling when I've broken something. It bled quite a bit, there's a bit of a lump on the bridge of my nose (bony part, not cartilage),

I still have a headache and there's tenderness all round the area consistent with soft-tissue damage, but remarkably little bruising and my nose is still straight. I think I've gotten off relatively lightly with just a bit of mild concussion and the sensation of having a really stuffed-up nose. Neither of which is enough to keep me away from B-Movie. ;-)
