This morning I went chasing wild geese — the job spec mentioned racking, I pointed out to the pimp I couldn't do heavy lifting, she said "not a problem," the interviewers said within five minutes it was absolutely required and they would be having a little word with the arseclowns in question. I am resisting the temptation to send a bill for my time.

It was entertaining getting in — an unexploded World War II bomb had been found near Prince Regent DLR, meaning both the Beckton and King George V lines past Canning Town were suspended:

The broken bed will hopefully be fixed ... next Wednesday.

Today I am frazzled. Send crack.

Later: Met [livejournal.com profile] jdforrester in a seedy Whitehall pub to give him a Casio Exilim EX-S600. This is much nicer in low light than the EX-S20 I used for ages. If you want to use it for anything more than a snapshot camera, you need to go through the preprogrammed "Bestshot" modes and fiddle them to your satisfaction. But the sensor is good and it's such a cute little gadget. I feel much better after a couple of beers.

Came home to discover [livejournal.com profile] hawkeviper and his shiny new American girlfriend Sarah:

We'll probably shift reddragdiva.co.uk to the real server when he's off holiday and is allowed near a computer again.

Gosh, she looks just like this girl I used to keep seeing at protests who marched round the whole of London in big heels with a megaphone, and was about five feet tall. This one wasn't American though!

Broken beds, unexploded bombs from The War, miniature cameras and clandestine meetings in seedy pubs. Throw in an unfaithful spouse and a troubled childhood and we have the beginnings of a Le Carrè novel.

How do you look in a bikini? Want to move to sunny Florida?

Get this job and you five can crash at my place until you get settled:

Actually, when I said, "you five", I meant Dave, Liz, Neo, Madame, and the half-ton record collection. If I intended to include you, it would have been six with Tom.

Once Dave is away prancing about the beach in a thong, I think you should take up a new hobby, like making stop-action animation videos with your dolls:

He didn't mention we had a small police siege in our street yesterday as well! I haven't been unfaithful, but does Diva being the child of avid tourists count for a troubled childhood? ;-)
