  • "If you are driving along while using your mobile phone, and if a policeman (who is passing by in his car) calls to you to stop using the phone, do not, repeat not, shout back to the officer telling him to fuck off. When he advises you to moderate your language, avoid repeating the original response, and telling him that he is a useless wanker. The above advice becomes even more important when you consider that there is a stash of cannabis in your pocket."

No B-Movie tonight — [livejournal.com profile] redcountess is having a rotten day and evening again having been arrested for possession of cannabis, breach of the peace and dangerous driving and is too unwell to leave. Sorry to all I was hoping to catch up with.

Today I finally bought a 2GB SD card for my camera from Morgan's for £33, since I've been filling the 1GB card. Blame continuous shooting and video clips. I also got the £15 "noise-reduction" headphones Maplin is selling, which do bugger-all and I recommend you not touch 'em. Shit headphones too. The phrase "not fit for purpose" keeps springing to mind.

I thought that sentence was going to say "[livejournal.com profile] redcountess has been arrested for possession of cannabis, breach of the peace and dangerous driving" for a second then.

hmm if you want noise reduction I would recommend these Bose quietcomfort 2 but they are CONSIDERABLY more expensive ie 15 times the price! Upside is go to an apple store you can try them out ( and apple stores are quite noisy). I tried them out at an exhibition at the NEC and they seemed to work very well.

Etymotic ER-4P or ER-6. It's the only way to be sure.

I have little faith in these new-fangled electronic gadgets; noise reduction is to be accomplished by putting solid matter between the eardrum and the world. (Preferably with some way of causing sound of some preferred variety to be produced on the inside of that, because even dropped by 30+ dB the yammering and screeching are still far too audible.)

Note that this definition covers both the Etymotic approach (and the swarm of lower-end hangers-on competing for the ear canals of the urban mass-transit userbase) and sufficiently large closed headphones placed over the ears.

Apologies! My eldest has opined that you and I would get along well. I have therefore taken the liberty of adding you to my flist unannounced.

The phrase "not fit for purpose" keeps springing to mind.

Unfortunately, that tends to apply to pretty much everything Craplins sell. They reinvented themselves as Tandy a few years back, except that Tandy occasionally sold something useful and have never spammed me.
