Photo recovery help needed!

The pics from Strength Through Dreadnought are not on my camera and not on my own laptop and not on my home server and not on my work laptop and, ahahaha, they are not on the website because they weren't in the recovered data after the crash. Which is why if you go to the photo site you see a lack of images.

So if anyone happens to have saved copies of these, please send me copies! dgerard@gmail.com.

Update: Currently grovelling through a dd of the SD card with dd2jpeg. And hawkeviper thinks he's found the pics in a more recent backup anyway.

Update 2: Found by hawkeviper in yet another backup. Hooray!

Google doesn't cache full-sized pictures. Though I could recover the thumbnails.

Wayback Machine takes a year or more to archive some sites, and neither reddragdiva.co.uk nor www.reddragdiva.co.uk has made it in.

BUGGRE. I have a fairly worked-out procedure for this sort of thing - keep on laptop until on website, then copy to home server and then delete from laptop - so I'm not sure where I hiccupped on this one. I think I desperately needed disk space so deleted it thinking I'd already put it on the home server. Arse.

Ooh- wish I'd known about this a couple of years ago, when I was recovering jpegs from a dd of a corrupted CF card. I shall have to keep a copy around.

It's hardly complicated - a Perl script to grovel through the dump for JPEG headers. sbp wrote one for me quickly for my own corrupt CF card experience a few years ago. In fact, I may need to hack up dd2jpeg to write garbage attempts at JPEGs as well, as presently it throws them away. But yes, it's useful having a name to remember to giggle for.
