The British need the Vitamin D, I suspect, but don't get enough experience with the sun to know when enough is enough. Americans go to the beach to get that brick red with skin peeling a few days later.
I'm wearing a long sleeved linen shirt and cotton pants, but my upstairs room is now at 75/23.8 and 65% humidity (good for the orchids). It's a bit hotter outside (don't have the AC on, it's just a cool house).
