redcountess's new Nokia 5800 has arrived. Plus point: FEATURES!!!1!one! Minus point: interface made entirely of fail. There's a reason iPhones cost money. A GNUphone would be more usable. Still, if she gets sick of it I'll claim it.

The joists under the toilet floor are apparently intact. Hopefully it can be fixed in finite time.

I have worked around the b0rken Ubuntu 9.04 wifi with a wifi PC card. How bloody annoying. Update: First it froze with an apparent kernel panic, then when it rebooted both wifi connections were working. I'm using the internal one right now and keeping the PC card around to frighten it into behaving.

Aside from the insanity of wanting to purchase a Windows desktop. It'll probably pass soon. After all, it took me ... four years or so, to get assimilated into owning an iPod.

I think I've used it for an hour in owning it for 10 days. Apparently, it was entirely covetous "ooo shiny!".

Samsung Omnia kicks ass (not sure what it's branded as over there). It kicks the iPhone to the curb on features (5.0 MP camera with flash, video and image stabilization), the interface is clean and easy to use, and I'm getting one myself.

Only downside? If you dislike Windows Mobile, that's the backend, but it is a customized version so you barely notice.
