Friday it was pissing down, so we took Freda for a swim at the Trowbridge Leisure Centre. Saturday we visited the Uffington White Horse and the Uffington Castle hill fort. The view's spectacular ... all of it carefully tended by humans. It struck me how beautiful landscapes in Britain are generally curated, compared to Australia where they're actually still mostly-natural. (Though very closely observed.)

I am pleased to say my dad is still an irascible old git. arkady says I have not turned entirely into him as yet, apparently still less obnoxiously rude. Though being less rude than my dad is not a terribly high bar.

Today we drove back, this time zipping along the M25 instead of single-laning the North Circular, and got from Wiltshire to Walthamstow in two and a half hours without stopping. We were greeted with a catshit apocalypse. I think I've got it all. Evidently the younger teen was somewhat overwhelmed by the stupendous quantities of poo produced by three cats, two elderly.

Freda has started drawing fighting dinosaurs with health bars above their heads. We blame too many Flash games.

There were poo piles in the living room, the kitchen & on the upstairs landing - the bathroom was by far the worst though. Someone (we suspect the elderly female cat) had managed an impressive diorrhea fountain up the bathroom wall. Oh, and they pissed on all the throws on the sofa AND my rucksack. The smell hit us the moment we walked in the door - it was NOT pretty.

The new worst thing sounds like it's got that soccer hooligan bloke from the Cee-Bebies trapped in it. I'd expect it to start instructing toddlers on how to deliver a Liverpool kiss next.

Oh dear lord! Are your kitties OK? I've cleaned up way too much cat poo in my time. Now we are down to our last kitty I don't have to do it any more.

Oh, they're fine! She kept them fed, just didn't clean up all the piss and shit. We've since gone over the house and mopping the floors today immediately improved the miasma. But goddamn those cats generate stupendous quantities of poop.

I wasn't worried about them eating it was the projectile diarrhoea that sounds alarming, but then I suppose geriatric cats might just have that as a chronic problem. Poor things.

Christ I hate the stench of cat poo. You have my utmost sympathies.
