It started concentrated. Its Gini coefficient has always been mind-boggling, at 0.87, compared to any actual economy. Bitcoin was substantially premined and all the hype was a long-running pump-and-dump.
Effectively Bitcoin is dead anyway. It died with Mt. Gox in March last year. Everything since then has been twitching, to a soundtrack of the screams of baghodlers, and libertarians discovering step by step and piece by piece why financial regulations exist. I still have my popcorn out.
