The Northern Line was out from Golders Green to Edgware this evening. I'm told it snowed or something. Hundreds of commuters got to get out and wait for buses. So I nicked off to the Indian across the road for dinner, in the hope of waiting it out. No such luck, of course, so I gave up and walked it. Quicker than the buses and cars, too. Gloves on, scarf wrapped around head. (I so needed my hat.) Only half an hour of the icy pavement duckwalk, and I only fell on my arse once. That's my day's exercise for sure.

[livejournal.com profile] ali_anarres complained about some stupid bastard going on about the joy of snow on LiveJournal. [livejournal.com profile] ewtikins asked if I enjoyed the walk.

I, of course, loudly proclaimed:

"SNOW!!!"

With the waving arms and everything.

[livejournal.com profile] ewtikins made a snowman! The eyes are potatoes, the nose is a parsnip, the mouth is radishes and the arms are celery. The scarf is synthetic.

Be sure to add snow!!! to your interests.

It looks like quite an evil snowman with those eyes.

I always wondered what a parsnip looked like!

In my mind that snowman is "Penisface". If you knew how much I like penis you would understand that the thought is far from derogatory in intent.

The whole vegetable theme is very clever, much nicer and more effective than the carrots and buttons I used as a child (the buttons were too small).

*wanders away wondering if parsnip tastes anything like it looks*

I was rather happy to see that no snow came near here at all. Snow is bad and wrong and evil. Only problem we got was a powercut.... what fun that was ;)

you know I am so jealous.
Two years, TWO WHOLE YEARS* I spent in that city and did it snow? No! Well, once for five minutes whilst I was walking down the road and even then, it had evaporated before it hit the ground. Doesn't count.

*okay, so I'm exaggerating. I go to other places, but there were two winters and that's what counts

Tell you what. Take all the damn snow and spend a month with it in Australia, where it'll do some good.
