The camera shop has responded to my letter of Monday by returning the camera with a note saying "here's your fucking camera, now fuck off." (At greater length.) Time to escalate.

I am sad to say that Veloria didn't make it yesterday - she died literally minutes before we got to the house. Probably a virus, and respiratory problems can severely strain a rat's heart.

The pollen count appears to be down to single digits. This evening I shall most likely go to the GP clinic at Whipps Cross (it's pretty much impossible to make our GP outside working hours) in search of Ventolin, vicious hay fever treatments and similar.

See if your GP will prescribe you Mizollen for your hayfever. They're similar to Zirtek but work much better. Only pills I've found which /do/.

Nobody's commented on your superb letter-writing style. I like it - almost as good as the letters my father writes to extract compensation from XYZ Company.

How long has the pollen count been low for? I've not sniffled my way in to work for about four days now...

That "you are going to do this because this is the way the world is going to be" style is easily developed, and valuable. Doing it on the telephone is a little more difficult.

Substantially more difficult - one doesn't have the ability to backspace and delete that last sentence...

...just like a colleague of mine who got so angry after finding the phone he wanted as an upgrade was out of stock that he LIED and said he'd been put to "a lot of inconvenience" (lie), and demanded lots of compensation (four months free line rental) before he'd be happy. He's just a massive blagger.

But anyway, there is a reason people say "Please put your complaint in writing" - its easier to deal with words.

While you can't revise your remarks, there is a compensating factor; it's much easier to browbeat people into submission on the telephone.

There's a place called Whipps Cross with it's own hospital??? No wonder you live there.
