  • Of course the coverup was entirely innocent and not systematic at all, and anyone thinking otherwise is probably just cynical and antireligious.

  • A song for Britain this week.

  • I missed the anniversary of this journal, dammit. It's all [livejournal.com profile] arkady's fault.

I really should update more often. Last weekend was pleasant with some scary bits. [livejournal.com profile] arkady and I went to meet up with Dennis and Lisa, who were visiting London, at the Dev. It was so ridiculously hot and humid that [livejournal.com profile] arkady collapsed on the platform at Kings Cross. (Always bring your water on the tube. Always!) But here's to two lovely American tourists and the Kings Cross station staff, who let her recover in the blissfully air-conditioned control room. This put paid to her plans to go back to St. Albans that evening, so she came back to Walthamstow and stayed over for a happy Sunday's recovery. While I suffered a family gathering in Southampton. Oh dear God.

Tuesday, [livejournal.com profile] redcountess and I ate the fine meal previously described, and Wednesday we had Dennis and Lisa over. Thursday I met [livejournal.com profile] arkady for lunch (at the pub) and visited her in St. Albans in the evening. Friday I made dinner for my darlings and we watched a documentary on poo.

Saturday I packed [livejournal.com profile] arkady off to work and Liz and I did some essential shopping in Leyton and rented Chicago, which I expect we'll be viewing this evening. I also got Flash (version 4 only, and sound isn't behaving) and RealPlayer (8, with the codec for 9) working on FreeBSD for her, and so we've been listening to 6 Music since. Being po', it's a Quiet Weekend In. We haven't even got the pennies for Deathboy this evening. (As such, I must ask all of you to go in our stead.)

I also got an email from an old girlfriend I haven't heard from in years, which was most cheering. I do hope to hear more.

It's a dull domestic existence, but it's pretty good really.

Oh, and work is a c#nt.

Can't really go wrong with that, that's true.
