An excellent [livejournal.com profile] kittenherder evening at the Head of Steam in Euston Station. [livejournal.com profile] ali_anarres, [livejournal.com profile] fluffymark, [livejournal.com profile] _nicolai_, [livejournal.com profile] marnameow, [livejournal.com profile] sbp, [livejournal.com profile] mstevens, [livejournal.com profile] mouseboks, [livejournal.com profile] chrysaphi, [livejournal.com profile] dizzy_fish, Mark and a late-arriving [livejournal.com profile] uon. I had five pints without dinner, accounting for my sociable condition. Heard about [livejournal.com profile] ali_anarres and [livejournal.com profile] fluffymark's new jobs, both of which they are very pleased with. We talked incredible quantities of geeky rubbish. I snogged [livejournal.com profile] fluffymark and am still wibbly about it. The place is nice enough and the beer is very good. I am now at home with my darling [livejournal.com profile] redcountess (who was absent because of the cold I think I'm getting) and very pleased with life.

I need more pubbing in my life. And more money for pubbing. And for [livejournal.com profile] redcountess to be well enough to pub too.

I now have an optical mouse of my own. It is that 'l33t. (Still don't know why it only works in one USB socket, not the other. This is on FreeBSD 4.6.2 on a Compaq AP400.)

In a good way, I hope!

By the way, I hope you reassured him about my skills with peroxide, as he's looking for someone to do his roots - I've volunteered my skills. :-)

Sounds like you had a good evening; shame I missed it - never mind, only tomorrow to go and then it's payday (yay).

How about a pub meet in Warrffamstaaw one of these nights? I'm sure enough people could be persuaded to make the journey up, especially as yourself and [livejournal.com profile] redcountess are expected to make a trip into central/south London for other events. I don't mind trying to whip up some interest in this idea if you both think it would work :o)

Hasn't this east end goths pub meet been floated endlessly to no avail previously? Not wishing to put a bummer on the proceedings.....

I'll come along too - Walthamstow is only a quick bus hop away.

So should I convince myself that a "quick" detour via Walthamstow on the way home is a good idea?

More than happy to wander back up there, it's reasonably night bus friendly as well, if I remember rightly.

If this coincides with one of the nights [livejournal.com profile] shadow_jess & I are in Walthamstow, we might be able to drop by & say hello, too, depending on wellness & stuff.

You even put [livejournal.com profile] fluffymark down for long enough to say goodbye.
Wow, you are growing old and civilised.

I'm sure you can agree that civilisation and heterosexuality are not strongly correlated.
You, meanwhile, are merely incorrigible.

Feel free to recommend other pubs in the area, bearing in mind that I will usually be coming from slightly north of Kings Cross station.

There's the Euston Flyer, ironically its rather static and doesn't move. Then again, last time I was in there I thought it lacked character...

The Head of Steam is always good for pre-ballroom stuff, especially for goths who like proper beer. Food's not too bad there either. They even have discount for anyone with a student card, and sometimes without, even if you tell them you're not one!

The head of steam got rid of their bar billiards table. Bastards.
