Set venue? Radical! I still think the best venue I know for anything is the Princess Louise in Holborn - really central, sells real ales and decent cider, doesn't balk at strange-looking people, fantastic original high-Victorian decor, friendly staff, halfway decent food.
Ooooh, don't think we've been there. Could they easily accomodate 20-60 random goths turning up and drinking them dry? As in, do they have lots of seating and not-loud music and long bars with numerous staff? It sounds worth a visit, may suggest it in the near future.
a number of different meets already take place on a regular basis at the PL (including Munches, DBiS and others) so doubt they would bat an eye-lid at that sort of number appearing.
On the other hand, it could be very nice to have a different location such as somewhere in Camden ....
On a weekday night, probably - they certainly manage to happily accommodate a group of 10-20 of us turning up every Friday. They have an upstairs bit which is usually open after about 6.30pm and where they serve food, unless it's booked for a private party. You can book it for free provided you're going to get 30+ people in there.
