The weather is vile, Walthamstow is still full of the severely downmarket and Boots in Selborne Walk is too pissweak to have walking sticks. We failed to get a desk, but have a lead on them. (Andrews has a second-hand selection well worth investigating further. It's per-shop, but we're keen to have a closer look. Of course, if any of you fine people have a spare desk able to hold a 21-inch monitor ...) We bought alcohol, vanilla cola, potatoes, hair dye, eye drops and p1llz. arkady is falling asleep next to me.

Don't buy a crappy Boots walking stick! Go to Covent Garden and get one! They're better AND cheaper and you could even go on your own, since as they're telescopic, one size fits all, so Liz doesn't have to be there to try it for size!

Haven't heard new one at all.

I used the previous one in honour of going to The Head Of Steam. Damn song had been stuck in my head all day because of the name of the pub. (The lyric bit I quoted on that one is only found on the 7". So there!)

There's a fantastic walking stick/umbrella place near Oxford Street - basically if you get to the end of oxford Street, cross the junction with Tottenham Court Road, and keep going, you'll see it up ahead on the right hand side of the road. It has a gorgeous Victorian facade with the original windows which advertise the fact that it also sells parasols and sword-canes (though in fact I don't believe it any longer does). Probably on the pricey side, but visiting it is an experience.
It also sells showcanes and riding crops, if you're of the kinkyequestrian persuasion.

I haven't bought any of the dvds or video tapes, in anticipation of just such a mega-truebelievers-ultracollectable-48 dvd release with footage of Aragorn taking a wizz and interviews with Frodo's 2nd grade acting teacher, computer wallpapers, special LOTR linux distro, profiles of every person in the credits AND their extended families, and a complete course in every language used in the movies including english.
