Went out with some BOFHs (Ingvar, Gideon, Jen) to celebrate the 3500th September, 1993. Mongolian Barbecue decided to September us by having had a fire and not be reopening until this weekend, so we decamped to the Porterhouse and drank lots of extremely nice beer and ate pub food. I got to have a Cooper's Sparkling for the first time in over a year.

The CompactFlash reader doesn't want to talk to my FreeBSD box, but apparently the problem is likely soluble with some light kernel hacking. Probably.

Being without the camera, today was of course the day I saw some tube mice at Leicester Square. I really will need a camera for Whitby. Anyone got one spare I can borrow for a couple of weeks? That old 1.3 megapixel that gobbles batteries like pills? I will bribe you! Beer! Candy! Hookers! Steak'n'blowjobs! Fiddy pee! A cig! NOT THAT I'M JONESING OR ANYTHING HERE ...

We are definitely moving into the new place on Sunday. w00t! Transport to be supplied by leunnammi. If the mattress can be squashed into his car, we won't even need a trailer.

CF, but my 128Mb CF card makes it unhappy, in a "requiring frequent batteries-out resets" sort of way.

On the other hand, since I'm going straight to London from Whitby, I'll have my laptop with built-in CF slot and CD burner with me. Handy or what?

It's just occurred to me that I'll also have my jukebox recorder. Hell, I could make bootlegs of the bands and burn them to CD that evening - how l33t sad would that be?

4xAA, 1.3MP. It's a Kodak DC250 IIRC. Don't *pint* me, *pint* ergotia, it's her and lilithmagna's camera now but she might be persuaded to part with it for a wee while (oh, and she drinks brandy and soda...)
