Neither [livejournal.com profile] redcountess nor I slept much at all last night, and I was so unwell this morning it actually frightened her. The fever broke around 9am, I dragged myself out of bed to go to the doctor (it's a virus, wait until I'm better) and I'm feeling quite a bit more human. Though I may lie down again soon. Liz rescheduled her appointment for Thursday.

I can see why Liz has had endless trouble with this GP clinic - they're insanely busy and really only set up to be medical first-line support. They like simple problems that don't stress their abilities. Anyone with a complicated problem will foul up their statistics.

Is the flu as much of a problem in the UK as it is in the US right now?

It's not too bad a problem yet, as we haven't really had any very cold weather yet - a couple of frosty mornings but no really freezing cold days. As soon as the temperature drops another couple of degrees, it'll be much worse.

This is what you get for interacting with people. Or not running an antivirus on Wife 1.1. Seriously, I haven't had a cold/flu that wasn't sexually transmitted in 6 years.

Hmph! He's the one who's been regularly pubbing in the last two weeks, so I've got it from *him*, not the other way around! And I soooo don't want to be sick before christmas.

Pretty much everyone we know has had this nasty bug over the last couple of months. Including both kids. K was late for her flu jab (she has asthma) and ended up with bronchitis and "probable" pneumonia before we had a chance to get it done this year. She's better now.

*ow*, that gives me some really really strange images. Starting at "have you tried rebooting your immune system" all the way up to "if you try uninstalling and tehn reinstalling you spleen..."

Ahh yes, the joys of NHS... Has almost been strangled as badly as medicare and limps along purely on the Florence Nightengale attitude of the medical profession....

Good luck to you... Eat!

It's fairly easy to keep from catching those if you pay attention to what you touch, and where your fingers go, i.e. eyes, nose.
