A nice afternoon at the Dev on Sunday for
arkady's birthday, with
gothstevek and
silverfiligree popping along, and
cyberpunkgrrl at the next table. Then to Ask for dinner, to discover it had turned into an Italian tapas bar (eh?) called Aperitivo. The food was small but exquisite; if you go there, get a couple of things per person.
Then we went back to St. Albans, where I proceeded not to sleep all night while going alternately burning hot and freezing cold. Just to keep in with the popular kids all falling sick right about now, and to further the plot to keep us all home New Year's Eve. It's Tuesday, I'm still here and today I'm able to sit upright. I may not be back at work for the rest of the year.
This morning a hand-addressed brown envelope from my employer showed up. Always cheering, those. It's just confirmation that as of January first, I'm still working for the old mothership, not the new one. Nice of them to let us know three days ahead. Not one jot of the actual job will change.
Happy birthday to
sushidog, even if you're putting off the party until January!
p.s.: kiillll meeee.
