Yesterday, I had a shower, got out, caught my left nipple ring on the towel rack and OW FUCK AGH RIPPED IT CLEAN OUT. It had migrated to the surface, so not an A&E job — there was only skin for it to rip thorugh. But FFFFFFFFUUUUUUUUU ... It's not stinging, was clean (fresh out of shower) and is now bruised and healing. Probably can't be repierced for another year or two. So much for my usual clubbing outfit!

A coupla nice dates with [livejournal.com profile] nyecamden going to decadent pits full of perverts. Quite nice, really.

Unemployment continues and goes GRIND GRIND GRIND. Bah. I have literally no money, so don't expect to see me anywhere. GISSA JOB.

Scenarios like this are exactly why I'm terrified of getting anything pierced, especially with a ring.

I assume you're recommending them for the sake of increased sensitivity, in which I am really not interested. My body spends enough time clamoring for my attention as it is!

Yeah, that is really not for me. I like being able to consent.

I THINK ITS QUITE OVIOUS REALLY.

LOL :) I loved your NotN story about her too.

If I can be bothered I was going to reply to the consultation (link - for all the good it won't do); I was tempted to write my response in all caps, "I THINK ITS QUITE OVIOUS THAT THIS LAW IS STUPID".

A bit depressing that despite her found-to-be-a-pirate-herself goof, she's now apparantely got the FAC in support of the law, albeit with "restriction" rather than disconnection. And we're supposed to feel still sorry for the "vitriol" she received, whilst she was happy to post James Allan's rant about "fat fucks"...

Miracleman can be bought, but only if you're willing to be scalped by people selling the individual issues at collectors' fairs, on ebay etc.

Also the rights issue that has bedeviled it is, as I understand, very close to being resolved and so there is a strong possibility of a new edition being printed, hopefully including Neil Gaiman's "Silver Age" continuation of the Alan Moore series.

Probably Marvelman, I imagine. Although given that there is already a Captain Marvel character in Marvel's comics, AND a completely different Captain Marvel character in DC's comics, it might be more prudent to retain Miracleman. However, I get the impression that Moore and various others are keen for the character's original creator Mick Anglo, now an old and expensively-unwell man, to finally get a few quid for the IP he created, so if they keep the original name, he would presumably be more richly compensated. I dunno, the rights issue on this title is the biggest quagmire of this type I've ever seen. Only Zenith's wrangle comes close, and that's definitely small potatoes by comparison.

Zenith was ace! Should have kept the Best of 2000AD reprints I had.
