  • To all those adding me on Orkut (which is apparently Finnish for "to cum"): I'll tend to add you back, but I'm not so interested in friend-whoring networks in general. Because they have no other point. (Unless I can monetise you. GIMME DOLLAH.) And it's not established that Google care themselves.

[livejournal.com profile] redcountess is having birthday drinks tomorrow, 3rd of February, 6:30pm at the Princess Louise, Holborn.

I should point out that Liz has never actually been there (having picked the venue on others' strong recommendations) and I've been there once. Should we go for upstairs, downstairs or the main level? What's a good idea on a Tuesday?

We failed to make Blues Hobbits 2003 on Sunday, but [livejournal.com profile] arkady did come over and help blond my hair, followed by me reddening Liz's for her job interview. (Arkady or I will be doing [livejournal.com profile] fluffymark's when he is no longer contagious.) Then lots of geeking and interactive wikiholism. A lovely evening.

Today Liz did not make her job interview as the carbon monoxide detector had taken to random chirruping. So she stayed home to wait for the Transco fellow to come along and say it was probably just a faulty CO detector, then switch off the boiler anyway and point out it would be illegal for us to switch it back on until inspected. I respect the caution, it was just a little inconvenient ... though the landlord's boiler inspector did make it round, say everything was fine and let us switch it back on.

Tonight we watch vidyers. Tomorrow is Liz's birthday. She has a job interview, a hospital appointment and birthday drinks to survive.

Not sure how infectious I may be. Yesterday I felt fine all day. This morning I practically died on the way to Wimbledon, but stuck it out and felt good again by late morning. This afternoon it must have got to me again and i've been feeling slowly steadily worse all day since then. Bah. Hoping I'll be well by tomorrow.

I wouldn't recommend "downstairs", that's the loos.

Upstairs has far more space than the ground level.

If it's open. It's also a function room, and is quite often booked.

There's a battle scene, trebuchets, 30 meter tall oliphants, 20 meter tall trolls, an army of undead spirits, and a battle scene OVER AN HOUR LONG. You have no idea what you're missing.

Oi! No spoilers! I have read the book, but I know Mr Jackson's vision differs from that quite a bit, and Diva hasn't read the books at all.
