I played a Nurse With Wound live album and both teenagers reacted as though I'd shat in their ears. I believe this is the effect industrial music was meant to have.

Done some laptop surgery while [personal profile] arkady is out. The shattered socket does actually work with the adapter put in the right way, which is just as well as the replacement socket we got from eBay is in fact completely wrong. The equals key does not work. Other keys if they feel like it. Left mouse takes thumping. Needs a new keyboard, really. And is basically held together by the stickers. Next: reviving Celery's broken fluoro inverter. [personal profile] secretlondon, about that Mini 9 ...

Pembury this evening. Arkady's health is indifferent and Freda's is really not up to it, so it'll likely be just me. I am shockingly poor, so please buy me a drink.

I am reminded of the bins at the tiny record shop nearest my childhood home in which they stuck everything too peculiar to categorize otherwise. They were labelled "Difficult Music."

Of course, that was back when people still listened to records, and you could go out and hire a triceratops for a ride to school.

That is awesome.

So has musical evolution now got to the point where parents play their music to annoy the kids and not the other way around as we were previously lead to believe was the natural order of things?
