Caught you making love with him.
May. 6th, 2004 11:09 pmSome terrible photos of the eclipse:
During totality, the moon was a dim red spot behind cloud; I got two shots it doesn't show in at all. The above were slightly after, when the moon was higher.
I've also been tarting up Wikipedia: Knightsbridge tube station and Telstra Dome. I also have a night shot of the latter. Many more to follow.

Date: 2004-05-06 08:21 pm (UTC)I'm curious about the Knightsbridge Station picture (beautiful facade, BTW!). The lettering on the "Underground" sign appears to have been attacked by the gremlins...in three instances. The signwriting around it is legible, though. What's the story? :)

Date: 2004-05-07 01:07 am (UTC)This pic (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:Knightsbridge-tube-station-sloane-street-entrance.jpg) is what I'm talking about.
At first I thought the sign was saying "UXXXXXXXXXD", where each 'X' is a slightly roughly-square squiggly glyph. Now that I put my nose up to the monitor and squint, I can tell that it's "UndergrounD", where all of the letters except those on the ends have a short '-' bar above and below them.
It is a cruddy design (http://www.bvg.de/ueber/images/design1203.jpg) (quite the opposite of the graphic design for the Underground Map (http://www.transportforlondon.gov.uk/tfl/images/zone_big.jpg), which has been emulated (http://www.victrip.com.au/images/maps/metro_train_map_fullscale.gif) around the world since the mid '20s) if viewed from a distance or you're more familiar with the older logo (http://www.kkn.net/~k5tr/photo/pcd1978/london-underground-sign-21.3.jpg).
