I have been to the doctor and given antibiotics and steroids. The prednisolone patient information leaflet is somewhat disquieting.

This Saturday I am going to Brighton with [livejournal.com profile] nyecamden \o/

David's currently offline, but he says yes, sure - email him with whatever username you'd like to use and he'll set up an account for you. There's also a "submit a story" feature which he complains no-one ever uses. :-)

Prednisolone is nearly the same drug as prednisone, which is one of the medications Frettchen could have been prescribed for her insulinoma. I opted for the slightly more expensive and, as it turns out, impossible to obtain, diazoxide.

prednisolone is definitly not-the-most-fun-thing-in-the-world but it does work for getting you breathing again. And i've always found the side effects do go as quickly as they come once you stop taking it (i'm one of the people who it gives blurred vision but i'm always amazed how that just snaps back to normal afterwards)
Good breathing thoughts

Prednisolone? Eh, took it for years (cumulatively) to cow the ol' corneas into submission, was fine; the thing is just to make sure you're taken off it in a timely fashion, I believe. Hope your ick is chased away soon!
