The steroids appear to be doing the job. I breathe clearly. I feel my limbs FLOWING with EXTRA ENERGY, now I just have to not be dumb enough to use it. I did tidy the lounge a bit, though. Without gasping for air at the end. Freda is still snotty and coughing, but still has the energy of a toddler. She got a Dora the Explorer magazine today with a tiny guitar and toy microphone and is currently insisting her mother try to play the guitar while she makes random "la la la" noises into the microphone while dancing about.

Got job paperwork today. I think I can state with reasonable confidence that I am employed as of Monday. ALL HAIL! Drinks are still on you until I actually get paid.

(I must admit that one of the most exciting things about the job is the prospect of a laptop not held together by its stickers and where all the keys actually work.)

Yay for a good laptop. I asked today to whom should I surrender mine on Friday. I've passed the projects I might have been working on if we'd gotten funded to the woman who's staying on.

I may take the advice I've given to wannabe photographs and see about picking up a gig shooting baby pictures.

On current job, cameras are forbidden, so haven't been carrying it lately. One of the weekend days, I put two cameras (sometimes only one) in the Think Tank Speed Freak bag and do several hours of photography. This will obviously expand after this coming Friday. I've currently got two film 35 mm cameras (F3 and F100), two Hasselblad bodies, three Zeiss lenses for the bodies, two waist level finders and one sort of broken prism finder, and four film backs. The digital cameras are outnumbered.

Once the current job goes away, I'll stick the Coolpix back in my purse, but the D300 is definitely a serious camera. I suspect that if I started doing events for money, I'd need another DSLR body, haven't checked into that at this point. The money would suck compared to defense and Homeland Security money. Baby picture places provide the camera. Doubt it's enough money to live on, though.

I <heart> my D300 I really do.
On the other hand for the "camera inna the bag for fun" purposes the Panasonic DMC-LX3 is proving quite nice these days.

Huzzah for breathing properly and confirmation of the job offer! It must be contagious - I just called Centrelink and was advised the disability support pension has been granted.
