Sunday: [livejournal.com profile] nadnad and [livejournal.com profile] needler were down from the country (NaD had carefully timed some data centre maintenance for the long weekend), so [livejournal.com profile] redcountess and I went out to meet them for lunch, with [livejournal.com profile] teqkiller and [livejournal.com profile] muftak.

As Suzi puts it, it was one of those lunches that turns into a day of boozing. We started at the Wetherspoons in Liverpool Street Station. Showed off our gadgets to each other (Liz has the cameraphone working) and watched insects divebomb our beer. We decided to adjourn to another pub. Suzi's unerring Wetherspoons-detecting gland took us only slightly astray (Needles' hair dazzled all in Petticoat Lane Markets and NaD discovered how crap Orange's GPRS coverage is in the actual City) and we eventually found the Goodmans Field in Whitechapel. Where we proceeded to drink several pints of a fantastically nice honey beer called Golden Showers (as per one of those jokes that gets funnier every time you tell it), eat rather a lot and cruelly torment Suzi over her bodily part phobias (for which I unreservedly apologise — I didn't mean to be so mean!) and cheesecake (which I finally ate with great joy). NaD and Needles are ridiculously happy with domestic life in the country, and NaD has clearly been getting into the pies — he will soon be replaced by a wobbling egg with glasses. Liz got to show off her freshly cut and dyed hair in daylight. And I took lots of pictures, capturing Suzi's hair and piercings before they are forever lost to the NHS. As did everyone else. We went home around seven, Suzi and Aden went to view Watching Paint Dry with NaD and Needles. Liz left her walking stick on the train.

Monday: A quiet day in cuddling and geeking with Liz and cleaning the kitchen, followed by an evening date with [livejournal.com profile] arkady. She was just back from looking after an ill [livejournal.com profile] lucyfurre, her ill child and a frazzled [livejournal.com profile] simm42. Then proceeded to catch the chronic puking bug again from Lucyfurre. So I fed her lots of water and held her while she threw up (out the door of [livejournal.com profile] vampwillow's fast green thing — Arkady so throws up like a rock star) and left her this morning after much puking overnight and a call to work and the doctor. Not the most romantic of dates, but it was very nice to see her in any case.

Tuesday: I'm at work. You have to ask? Liz just got a DVD drive in the post and is busy geeking with it. Hopefully the laptop will ever speak to us again ...

The chronic puking bug turns out to be acute gastroenteritis. This is the first point at which I've been capable of upright movement....

Well, the doctor said 24-36 hours, so being upright now is about as expected. I had a very uncomfortable night with chronic back pain but fortunately no throwing up; I'm sticking to just water for now though.

I shall probably manage an LJ post then go fall over in bed again shortly.
