In a stroke of genius, this afternoon I lost a twenty pound note, and this evening I lost MY WHOLE PACK OF CARDS. Just got off the phone from cancelling everything. [livejournal.com profile] redcountess thinks I'm a complete muppet. She is, of course, correct.

Nice evening down the Dev with [livejournal.com profile] arkady and [livejournal.com profile] hawkeviper, though. Hi to [livejournal.com profile] valkyriekaren, [livejournal.com profile] wechsler and [livejournal.com profile] flavius_m.

I have a dream. It involves getting a Mac G5 and doing a CGI remake of Plan 9 From Outer Space. (Where to find the 3D data set for a 1950s Cadillac hubcap?) Or a thirty-second Stick Figure Theatre version.

Netscape 7.2's memory use is still at 350 or so megabytes, but it's not actually showing any sign of flinching under load.

On the third, indeed, quite amusing ;-)

There seems to be a pattern emerging..... in Australia you temporarily lost your passport....n ow you've lost your bank cards.... I'm not sure where this pattern is going, but in retrospect, sewing important things to your arse is looking like a good option.

Not a fan of S&S exactly but enjoyed some episodes we rented on dvd recently, missed them the first time around but a good friend raved about them. Weird, but good.

I wonder why Russia, Germany and the Philippines are relatively high up the list but France, Italy and Spain fail to even make the top ten. I've long had the impression of France being in its own little world, internet-wise (accurate or otherwise, but it's consistent here); but Italy usually seems pretty well represented in online contexts IME.

Actually, I'd contend that it's the second-best headline ever, after "zombies defeat robot Jesus" (http://www.dehavilland.co.uk/webhost.asp?wci=default&wcp=EntertainmentStoryPage&ItemID=2259231&ServiceID=8&filterid=345221&searchid=234672&category=1).

Don't sweat the statistics: these are only for the number of people who actually bother to list their ages. Now, what worries me is the insignificant number of people who actually pay for their LJ service: 98 percent of LJ users are using free accounts? Sheesh.

They offer it for free. If it gives what you want at that price...

Diva, Diva, Diva.... *shakes head*

Do you remember how we first met? Think back all those years.

You don't put things in your pocket properly, do you? You lose money, passports, credit cards etc on a regular basis.

This is curable. Put things in secure pockets. Zip 'em up if you're in leather jacket.

Or carry a handbag. ;-)
