Friday: B-Movie was marvellous and [livejournal.com profile] redcountess was well enough to come out and play! Just! She wore out and left by 11:30pm, but got to say hi to everyone. We also drafted the splendid and very bouncy [livejournal.com profile] redshira to come visit us.

[livejournal.com profile] _nicolai_ was reading LJ on the bus home. Bluetooth from Palm to phone, GPRS to LJ. This is Wrong.

Saturday: Australia has been abolished owing to national stupidity. Apart from that profoundly depressing piece of news, I recovered from six pints (eek!) remarkably well. I did get to walk home from [livejournal.com profile] arkady's through Walthamstow in a silver skirt and stockings. At least I cleaned the panda-eye makeup off first. Possibly I should keep emergency trousers at her place.

In the afternoon, we went to the Cockpit in the City for a BOFHbof in honour of [livejournal.com profile] sweh and [livejournal.com profile] syringavulgaris, who were over from New York. I also met [livejournal.com profile] weds for the first time after many years' admiration of her intarweb writings. I drank six and a bit pints of watered-down Director's and Pedigree.

(Happy birthday to [livejournal.com profile] muftak, whose party we missed!)

Sunday: Today I noticed that I couldn't find my camera. That would be the one with all the fantastic B-Movie and BOFHbof shots (and movies) on it. FUCK. Liz is still speaking to me, sort of.

Tomorrow I start work. You may ever hear from me again.

Well, actually it was an iPaq (http://www.shopping.hp.com/cgi-bin/hpdirect/shopping/scripts/product_detail/product_detail_view.jsp?landing=null&category=handhelds&subcat1=classic_performance&product_code=FA175A%23ABA&catLevel=3). My Palm device (http://www-5.palmone.com/uk/en/products/treo600/index.html) browses the Intarweb all on its own but the screen is much smaller than on the iPaq.
And it's not bad and wrong. It's staving off boredom on the trip home. So ner.
Posting on the bus is harder, because it's hard to type or handwrite on the bouncing bus.

What's wrong about that? We quite often read LJ on P800 via GPRS, or Zaurus via GPRS. Don't phear the technology....

He's just jealous ;-) I have GPRS on my mobile phone, but it's through Voodoofone Live, and the charges are exhorbitant.

We were early adopters of Vodafone GPRS, so I think we've got a special rate for data or something.

Emergency trousers? a la http://www.sluggy.com/daily.php?date=020408 ?

From now on, you're only allowed to carry cash, and forbidden any electronic device smaller than 30 inches around any circumference that isn't chained to your waist.

Is this a good time to point out that he loses cash too (http://www.livejournal.com/users/reddragdiva/161446.html)?

Never mind dear heart; at least you're pretty and decorative.

Next time, I think it would be prudent for you to hand any valuables to either Liz or myself before leaving the pub should you find yourself that inebriated again....

He's got to be able to carry something... Losing a 20 pound note means he's out 20 pounds. Losing a pack of cards is potentially a great deal more dire...

I've never known David to lose something when he's carrying his little handbag that he takes with him to B-Movie. Maybe if he gets in the habit of carrying a handbag with him ...?

So close, yet so so so far...

*cries*

If the UK and the US go the same way, I'm quitting this world and moving to Mars.

And to think that I had just rescued it from the voracious sofa for you.
Bummer that.
