Pub was good. arkady and I were there early and waited until 6:30 for the Mancunian laggard and ashbet to show. Also appearing were sushidog, valkyriekaren and wechsler. androktone appeared. She must build a life designing simple power stations. I had a lovely if compressed early evening out before leaving the party animals and going home to my darling redcountess. Who I am curled up to now. So there.

Whitby cottage booked for Liz, Arkady and me! Just off Flowergate, no less.

We have a house inspection Monday. Fuck.

Lucky you; here the landlady comes and goes as she pleases, and generally takes a hands-on role in the house. Mind you, she seems like a decent sort, though it's a bit of a culture shock from Australia (where landlords, much like vampires, may not enter tenants' homes unbidden).

Maybe for house shares the law is different; the agreement for this house explicitly says that they can. The bills are also in the landlord's name, and are covered by rent.

Am I being fucked over here? Should I flee to a bedsit as soon as I have means of support?

Good question. I would say play it by ear and assume your bond has gone to the great bank account in the sky. Renting in London does in fact fucking suck. Good thing it's heaven otherwise.
