Stumbled into the pub late from work to be told that [livejournal.com profile] ladylilith had had an authentic London tourist experience - getting her bag nicked. From under her feet while sitting in the Dev. The culprit (not a goth, we think, but a skulking Camden random) was spotted sufficiently for police description purposes. A bit of money, credit cards (quickly cancelled) and her camera. With our Whitby shots on the shiny new 64 meg smartcard, dammit. And, of course, the luscious purple bag itself. Bah. But the Sluts were wonderfully supportive, and especial props to [livejournal.com profile] dathedi and [livejournal.com profile] thamshere.

(This pretty much buggers our chances of ligging with Chaos Engine on the Dublin Gothic Weekend, which is rather annoying - weekend of 22nd-23rd, I get paid on the 25th. Ah well.)

[livejournal.com profile] marnameow met the goths and lured a few of them into her web of sushi. [livejournal.com profile] sheridanwilde tried icecubing me, but I have superpowers of evasion. [livejournal.com profile] minigoth projected such an air of injured innocence I could almost believe it.

Chatted to the DJ (Dave something). Turns out he lived in Melbourne a few years ago and we know everyone in common. So he played Snog "Corporate Slave" to commemorate.

Oh, and [livejournal.com profile] greap is a fucking GOTH.

Amazon have come through. )

Apparently the book is actually in stock as well, so might even arrive before Christmas ...

(Update: They just emailed to say it's shipped. Let's see what the Amazon book lottery turns up this time!)

And Ikea came around to fetch the wrong mattress; we'll see what happens next.

Update: The correct book reached its intended recipient, and they were very pleased with it indeed.

Buggre Alle This For A Larke. It's 5:30pm here. The office is empty except for me. I'm left wondering what the hell people did at work before the Internet.

Meeting [livejournal.com profile] ladylilith, Ali and Kathryn at the Dev later, thence to Wagamama Camden. I might see some of y'all around then.

Update: Extracted the job description. I will forward it to those who have asked, but I warn you now, it's composed entirely of buzzwords and doesn't even mention the actual skills we know we need here. I suspect we will be drafting a replacement spec ourselves.
