I have retrieved most of the old issues of Party Fears from Perth for scanning. The only one missing is the first single sheet, #16½. I even found the unreleased #18³/4 — a split single sheet with Lemon that never happened — and some fragments that were slated for #19 (not my backups, damn it, but some things). The scans will go up on Rocknerd when I have something smaller to put up than the 33-megabyte 600dpi TIFF files. Then I play with GOCR.

I've been rereading them and recalling my dissolute youth. My goodness, that was a great fanzine. The embittered arthead arrogance really did reach near-perfection by early 1992. I wonder whatever happened to Party Fears.

(I was completely burnt out on dealing with printers, dealing with advertisers, dealing with indie cowboy record shops and dealing with indie cowboy distributors. Writing was easy; every other detail sucked. Perth fatigue was also a large factor. Perth only moves forward at all through the bloody-minded determination of the naïve.)

It makes me want to do a fanzine again. Even though I've already GOT ONE! I pay half the hosting and everything!

Time for some more serious and determined zine writing. If there's music in the world that doesn't suck. G*th doesn't cut it either.

I also need to ship my records and remaining papers over before they're inadvertently destroyed.

I have a limited capacity to put up with my family. A day was about right. redcountess has gained tremendous insight into why I'm like I am.
