It's been packages and technology day! This morning we got a bird feeder stand and bath, which is sitting out the back and failing to attract any birdlife in the pre-storm weather. This afternoon we got a DVD±RW writer and a PCI 11g wireless card. This evening we put the DVD into the Macintosh. (The blue and white G3 is a wonderful machine to work on. Designed not to piss off hardware techs.) Right now [livejournal.com profile] redcountess is doing software and firmware foo and tomorrow I'll try burning something with it.

Someone on #wikipedia asked for help getting shots of Wikipedia on Palms and phones, so I volunteered Liz's Zire 72s and [livejournal.com profile] arkady's Tungsten C. The C's stock browser is Palm Web Browser 2.0.1.1 (from 2002) and renders it horribly; the Zire's is palmOne Web Pro 3.5 (from 2003) and does a surprisingly good job (having the small screen rendering foo). It was actually enjoyable to use, reading and editing. Now all it needs is multiple browser windows. Arkady is considering a more recent browser for hers. Here's to Minimo making it to Palm.

Tomorrow I will put the old DVD reader/CD burner and the PCI wifi card into the FreeBSD box and start on getting the card working. I am being interviewed in the afternoon about Wikipedia for a radio show (not sure who, I'm speaking to a Clara Long) and in the evening I will be having dinner with the luvverly [livejournal.com profile] nisaba. I really should buy a new phone as well.

I am eyeing up a new camera. I'm really annoyed the current Casio Exilim range doesn't include the MP3 player cameras. Though I might get a 1.3 megapixel one (the old EX-M1) real cheap soon.

Oh, and a few days ago I got a pile of backup CDs from 2002 which I thought were lost forever. More photos to put up before I die!
